At Underwood Public Schools we offer both team and individual sports and activities to our students in grades 7-12, as well as elementary sports programs through the community education program.

Our purpose is threefold:

-to develop a strong feeling of pride in UHS activities

-to display attitudes of sportsmanship, citizenship, and responsibility

-to provide a disciplined environment that lends itself in all life's endeavors

Our coaching staff from the junior high level through varsity work to provide opportunities for this to happen. From organizing and helping with the elementary programs to facilitating weight programs and offseason participation, our coaches are here to provide opportunities for UHS and OTC student-athletes and teams to reach their potential. We are proud of both our coaching staff and our facilities that provide our students with the opportunity to participate and succeed. With our 2000 addition, we have a 3-court gymnasium, 3 locker rooms, and a training room. Our outdoor athletic complex consists of practice fields and new softball, baseball, and football fields. A strong community base including many local and area businesses helped in the effort to see this realized.

UHS offers football, volleyball, girls' basketball, boys' basketball, and golf. We also pair with Battle Lake and Henning to offer Ottertail Central cross country, wrestling, softball, baseball, and track and field.

Currently, over 87% of our students participate in one or more extracurricular activities. Whether it is the fine arts activities or athletics, this community believes in the value of participation for the development of the whole child. And we all, as parents, spectators, teachers, and administrators, enjoy watching the students---watching them work hard, learn from and with each other......and have fun!
